Shoot for the Moon 10/14/15

Growing up as a female in our society, it's very difficult to realize your worth, or to even believe you have any to begin with.

Let's just say, we all struggle with self-esteem issues and body image problems. If you don't, check and make sure you're human. We all doubt ourselves or think we aren't good enough.
I wake up every day hoping it's a good hair day, and that I don't look more like a dude (let's face it, I think I look like a dude with hair). I always do my makeup without really seeing myself because, honestly, I hate what I see. Isn't this a sad way to live? Never really seeing yourself, let alone your true beauty?
I'm slowly (BUT SURELY) learning that the only true, biggest fan you can have is YOURSELF. No one can love or know you like you do. Be your own soulmate! Find the other half of your soul instead of ignoring it like it isn't there. We all contain a beautiful force that we choose mostly to leave dormant.
With alllllll of this being said, don't settle! I repeat, DO NOT SETTLE. Life can throw you so many curveballs (some you may not even want to catch). These curveballs can be: cheating spouses, abusive boyfriends, douche bags that put you down, horrible friends, people who have friends just so they can gossip about them... The list goes on!
But, please, I beg you, don't settle for those people. You have a worth greater than you can imagine! You can inspire others, write a book, teach a class, or just be a friend or lend a helping hand! Even small acts make huge differences.
Every human on this planet deserves respect and the utmost happiness. Why do you think you don't? Something called depression or anxiety or PTSD, etc? Nope!
Our society pushes us to these conclusions! Yes, those illnesses are real, but don't let them devalue you!
I have been in an abusive and manipulative relationship. I have been controlled, hit, and cheated on.
But, I am telling you right now that I moved past it! It may have taken 5 years, but I did it! Now that I know what it's like to be treated like a (literal!) princess, I have no idea why I let myself live through that!
He makes me feel beautiful in a way that I have never felt. That right there is reason enough not to settle. There is always someone willing to take care of you in a way that you don't even care for yourself.
Don't ever let any other person decide your worth; only you know your worth... You just have to learn to agree that your value is priceless.
